Designated Manager Training

19 CSR 15-7.021(14)(A) and (B) requires all in-home service providers to have a designated manager on staff. To qualify as a designated manager, education and experience requirements must be met as well as passing a written test administered by MMAC.

Testing Schedule

The test is administered once per calendar quarter. Pre-registration is required and there is no cost to take the test. The day will consist of a 1 hour instructor led review beginning at 9:00 am, followed by a short break, and testing immediately following.

Registration

Registration is required for each attendee prior to taking the test. Make sure that you use a valid email address specific to the person registering (more than one person cannot register with the same email). You will also have to use a desktop or laptop for registering AND attending this testing session. A tablet, Chromebook, or smartphone will not be sufficient. You must review all of the Designated Manager training open book materials posted on MMAC’s site prior to the test. Space is limited. Registration will close at midnight prior to each session date. Once the training date has reached capacity, the date will no longer be available for selection on the registration form. The next session will not be made available until after the current class has taken place.

DM TESTING

The test is in open book format that will consist of 50 multiple choice and true/false questions.  Open book materials can be found in the link below.  Prior to taking the test, it is advisable for you to review all of the materials.  You will be allowed 3 hours to take the test. A score of 80% or more is required to pass. When you are done and submit your test, you will NOT be able to go back and review or change any answers. You will be notified by mail within 2 weeks of taking the test if you passed or failed.  If you do not pass the test, you can retake the test on any of the prescheduled test dates.

CDS Orientation Training

Due to the large influx of CDS providers submitting proposals and many instances of payroll taxes and unemployment contributions not being paid for Medicaid consumers; MMAC is requiring that all potential CDS providers attend CDS Orientation training prior to submitting a proposal. Documentation of attendance will be required for all proposals received by MMAC after March 1, 2019.

Current CDS providers are also encouraged to attend the CDS presentations.

Training

The training sessions will be available every other month throughout 2023 via a webinar. The session will be at the very least five (5) hours, possibly longer depending on questions.  Please plan ahead to be available for the entire session.  Those who leave early will not receive credit for attending.  YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE A WEBEX ACCOUNT TO ATTEND THE WEBINAR or you will be prompted to sign up before you will be allowed to attend the Webinar.  You MUST BE logged into the virtual room to receive proof of attendance (no call-in users).

Pre-registration is required but there is no cost to attend. The training will consist of a five hour presentation of the CDS program, proposal submission, applicable rules and regulations, responsibility of the vendor agency (payroll, taxes, employment contributions and security background screenings), and general guidance regarding the CDS program. The training will start at 9:00am and end at 2:00pm. A MMAC representative will be available after the training to answer questions. It will be helpful to have a copy of the presentation and/or be prepared for taking notes as a lot of information will be covered in the session.

Registration

Pre-registration is required because space is limited. The online registration form must be filled out completely. Make sure that you use a valid email address, the registration email and the link to attend the online training will be sent to and associated with the email submitted. You will also want to use a desktop or laptop for this training session, a tablet or phone may not be sufficient. Registration will close at midnight prior to each session date. When the training date has reached capacity, the date will no longer be available for selection the registration form. The next session will not be made available until after the current training has taken place.
