Designated Manager Training
19 CSR 15-7.021(14)(A) and (B) requires all in-home service providers to have a designated manager on staff. To qualify as a designated manager, education and experience requirements must be met as well as passing a written test administered by MMAC.
The training materials for the test must be reviewed online. If you do not pass the test, you can retake the test on any of the prescheduled test dates. Prior to taking the test again, it is advisable for you to review all of the online training materials again.
The test is administered once per calendar quarter. Pre-registration is required and there is no cost to take the test. The day will consist of a 1 hour instructor led review beginning at 9:00 am, followed by a short break, and testing immediately following.
Registration is required for each attendee prior to taking the test. Make sure that you use a valid email address, the registration email and the link to attend the online testing will be sent to and associated with the email submitted. You will also want to use a desktop or laptop for this testing session, a tablet or smartphone will not be sufficient. The registration form must be filled out completely and includes attesting that you have reviewed or will review, all of the Designated Manager training materials posted on MMAC’s site prior to the classroom review & test. Space is limited. Once the training date has reached capacity, the date will no longer be available for selection on the registration form. The next session will not be made available until after the current class has taken place.
If the next class is full, you may want to have your name put on a waiting list for the next class. If so, you will need to e-mail Provider Contracts at firstname.lastname@example.org. Keep in mind that is a waiting list for the next class and does not guarantee you a spot in any of the classes. If you are put on the waiting list, you will only be notified if a space becomes available for you.
The test is in open book format that will consist of 50 multiple choice and true/false questions. You will be allowed 3 hours to take the test. A score of 80% or more is required to pass. When you are done and submit your test, you will NOT be able to go back and review or change any answers. You will be notified by mail within 2 weeks of taking the test if you passed or failed.
If you have general questions regarding the training, please email them to Provider Contracts.
CDS Orientation Training
Due to the large influx of CDS providers submitting proposals and many instances of payroll taxes and unemployment contributions not being paid for Medicaid consumers; MMAC is requiring that all potential CDS providers attend CDS Orientation training prior to submitting a proposal. Documentation of attendance will be required for all proposals received by MMAC after March 1, 2019.
Current CDS providers are also encouraged to attend the CDS presentations, pending availability of seats. Priority will be given to providers that have not yet submitted a proposal.
The training sessions will be available every other month throughout 2020 via a webinar.
Pre-registration is required but there is no cost to attend. The training will consist of a three hour presentation of the CDS program, proposal submission, applicable rules and regulations, responsibility of the vendor agency (payroll, taxes, employment contributions and security background screenings), and general guidance regarding the CDS program. The training will start at 9:00 and end at noon. A MMAC representative will be available after the training to answer questions.
Pre-registration is required because space is limited. The online registration form must be filled out completely. Make sure that you use a valid email address, the registration email and the link to attend the online training will be sent to and associated with the email submitted. You will also want to use a desktop or laptop for this training session, a table or phone may not be sufficient. Once the training date has reached capacity, the date will no longer be available for selection the registration form. The next session will not be made available until after the current training has taken place.
